2016 Chirstmas Gift Drive
In what was the fifth time since our creation, CFKC on December 19th went shopping around Altoona to purchase gifts for the those children in the Children's Hopsital of Pittsburgh Hematology/Oncology Unit. Through funds raised at events at Juniata College as well as through collections at Our Lady of Mount Caramel and personal donations, CFKC was able to buy close to $2000 worth of gifts for the hospital. The next day the gifts were packed into a car and delivered to the hospital in time for the holiday season. CFKC would like to thank all of those who donated and helped, and allow us to continue our holiday tradition of helping these kids.
CFKC Second Annual Haunted House at Juniata College
Much like last year, on October 28th Caring For Kids with Cancer held its second Haunted House at Juniata College in Good Hall. Once again under the guidance of Chelsea Keller, CFKC embraced the festivities of the season and transformed the third floor of the academic hall into "No Good Manor". The event once again was a success as over 250 people came to the haunted house and CFKC was able to raise $500 for kids with cancer. CFKC was even fortunate enough to have the Deans of the college come to the fundraiser as well as have some faculty participation in the event. It was a great time and we hope for its continued success.
#KillFizzy Fundraiser
On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, Emma Auker(16) was taken to Children's Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh. After weeks of migraines, nausea, and difficulty with her fine motor skills, doctors discovered that she had an aggressive growing brain cancer. She traveled Monday-Friday to Pittsburgh from Altoona to complete six weeks of radiation treatment and simultaneously underwent chemotherapy. After the first six weeks the doctors established a more long-term chemotherapy based treatment plan. As a way to help support Emma in her battle against her tumor Fizzy, CFKC sold shirts for Emma pictured on the right. We were able to donate $500.00 to help cover any travel or medical expenses we could, and we at CFKC continue to hold Emma and her family in our hearts as she continues with a strong determination to kill Fizzy.
2016 Gold Game at Juniata College
In what has become a new tradition in the fall, CFKC held its 3rd Go Gold Game in partnership with the Juniata College Football team on September 10th. There was a crowd of gold as the Eagles won their home opener at Knox Stadium. The organization sold shirts as well as ribbons and other merchandise to raise close to $2000 for the event. The money raised went to the 2016 Christmas Gift Drive as well as the 3rd Annual Champathon dance in Huntingdon County. We at CFKC are very thankful for all of those who supported our cause and hope to be able to continue our great partnership with Juniata College Football.

2016 CHAMP Dance
As we did last year, this spring our Juniata chapter of CFKC was happy to help Planet LoveJoy with the second annual CHAMP-a-thon. The goal of CHAMP is to Create Hope And Make Progress through helping kids with cancer and other diseases as well as donating to other charities within the Huntingdon County. We were able to donate $1500 to CHAMP, and the event in total raised over $40,000. It was a great evening meeting with the families and helping high school students see the importance of doing charity for great causes. We hope to help again next year and to continue to make the world a better place.
2nd Annual Christmas Gift Drive Banquet
Just like last year, CFKC hosted its Second Annual Christmas Gift Drive Banquet at the Casino at Lakemont on November 28, 2015. It was night filled with friends, fun, and charity as we raised over $4,000 to be able to donate the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in the form of Christmas Gifts. We also were also able to raise money for the CHAMP-a-thon that CFKC was a part of later in the year. CFKC was gracious to have the donations from local sponsors such as Sheetz, C and G Bank, and Summit Fitness as well as our private sponsors who really made the event a success. We are constantly looking for more ways to benefit our community, so if you would like to help contact us today.
CFKC First Annual Haunted House
On October 23rd, Caring For Kids with Cancer held its first ever Haunted House at Juniata College in Good Hall. As per suggestion of our valued member Chelsea Keller, CFKC wanted to reach out and hold an event that attracted young and old alike while enjoying the festivities of the season. The 3 hour event was a total success as over 300 people came to the Haunted House and CFKC was able to raise $500 for children with cancer. We thank everyone who made this event possible and look forward to expanding the event next year.
2015 Gold Game at Juniata College
On September 5th at Juniata College, CFKC held its second Go Gold game in partnership with the CFKC chapter at Juniata College. It was a great win for the team and for CFKC as the Eagles soared to their first victory while CFKC raised over $1800.00 in donations and T-shirt sales. The stands were filled with gold as CFKC sold t-shirts, ribbons, and more to help those children affected by cancer. $500 of what was raised will go to a girl by the name of Abbey, who is a cousin of one of the JC Football players. She was recently diagnosed with AR this summer, and so the money will help go to her and her family to help out with anything they may need. Thank you to Juniata College and Coach Lantz for allowing the Juniata Chapter of CFKC to start off the academic year in such a great way.
1st Annual Answer For Cancer 3 on 3 Tournament

As mentioned all proceeds will be going to a child with cancer in the Blair County Area. We had sixteen teams and a great day of fun, so if you were unable to make it this year be sure to be there next summer. We are already planning the next one, so stay tuned!

2nd Annual Candlelight Vigil
Once again CFKC held their annual candlelight vigil at the Elizabeth Baker Peace Chapel at Juniata College . With much better weather than what we had last year, it was a nice time in which we remembered those who are fighting, or have fought their courageous battle against childhood cancer. Those who attended were encouraged to remember in silence someone they lit their candle in honor of, and all ages were remembered as cancer affects everyone. We continue to fill up the chapel more and more each year as we our flame continues to grow in strength for those children with cancer. We hope to see you next year!

2014 Christmas Gift Drive
CFKC for the third time held another drive to raise funds for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Through the amazing and growing support of local schools, churches, businesses, and our first banquet, CFKC was able to raise over $4000 dollars this year. This was above what we raised last year, and with each year we continue to grow. We packed our car and traveled out with toys for all ages in hopes of continuing to spread the CFKC holiday cheer. With three years of great success we look to continue this event as our annual drive and are always looking for more supporters. If you want to be a part of this, we welcome you to join today.
1st Annual Christmas Gift Drive Banquet
CFKC is proud to announce that this year, our first Christmas Gift Drive Banquet was a great success. The banquet was a blast as it was a great night of friends, food, and charity. The event took place on November 29, 2014 at the beautiful Casino at Lakemont in Altoona Pa. The money raised through ticket sales and the silent auction was used to purchase Christmas gifts for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. We had two wonderful guest speakers who realy capitivated the crowd and we were thrilled to have the first "Whip out Childhood Cancer" event. We also were gracious to have the donations from local sponsors such as Sheetz, Longhorn Steakhouse, C and G Bank, and Summit Fitness and all our personal sponsors who really made the event work. We are already in progress of planning the event again for next year. We understand that right after Thanksgiving is an extremely busy time, but if you get the chance, we really encourage you to attend. The atmosphere is great, and the cause is even greater. It is an amazing way to ring in the holiday season, and we are excited to see what the new year brings. Contact us today if you would like to know more details or if you too would like to become a sponsor of our event.
2014 Gold Games
In coming up with different events as CFKC continues to grow, this year we were able to have two football gold games in support of childhood cancer. One was with our chapter at Juniata College and another at Hollidaysburg Senior High School. In both cases, gold t-shirts were sold to raise funds for the Christmas gift drive that was coming up that year. At the Juniata College game, over $1800 dollars was raised in support of childhood cancer and Hollidaysburg itself also did a tremendous job as it raised over $500. A huge thank you goes to both schools for assisting in CFKC's dream to create a better world for these children. If your school would be interested in joining the cause, feel free to contact us.
Juniata College Relay for Life 2014
CFKC continued its work against cancer, as this year it formed a team in Juniata College's Relay for Life. CFKC was more than willing to help Relay's goal to fight cancer, as any battle against this diesase is worth fighting. The team took sixth place after starting late in the event, and was able to raise over $500. On the day of the event, CFKC sold our famous wristbands and offered face painting to anyone who wanted. We even sold cookies to embrace the childlike spirit in all of us. CFKC was happy to join the festivities and hopes to join many Relays across the state.

1st Annual Candlelight Vigil
On Friday April 11th, at 7:30 pm, CFKC hosted its first annual candlelight vigil at the Peace Chapel at Juniata College . It was held in honor of those fighting, or have fought, their courageous battle against childhood cancer. Candles were sold for a mere $1, as the event was more aimed to gather and remember those who needed us most. Those who attended were encouraged to say aloud someone they lit their candle in honor of, and all ages were remembered as hope knows no age limits. Although the rainy weather caused a much smaller group to attend, those who did felt what the powerful feeling of community and family can do, as they left that evening in awe. We showed that since cancer doesn't care about rainy or sunny days, neither will our support, as we will always be there through any weather for those who need us most. If you were unable to attend this year, we highly suggest you join CFKC next year to honor and remember all of those in thier battles with cancer.

2013 Christmas Gift Drive
After realizing success in our first Christmas Gift Drive, CFKC for the second time held another drive hoping to raise more funds for the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Through the gracious support of local schools and churches, CFKC was able to raise over $3500 dollars this year. This was one and half times what we were able to raise last year, and once again CFKC was able to spread the holiday cheer to those who needed it. The toys bought ranged from gift cards to an Xbox for a common room, as we were sure to get something for all age ranges. With two years of great success we look to continue this event as annual drive and are always looking for more supporters. The feeling gained is one that is indescribable and I promise you won't regret you were a part of it.

2013 T-Shirt Drive
In the spring of 2013, CFKC continued its charity as we held our first T-shirt drive to raise awareness of the club within the community. The shirts were sold for nine dollars, and over 200 people now wear our club's logo. The total amount raised from this T-shirt sale was $1,080. The money was used in the Christmas Gift drive. We plan on holding more clothing apparel orders later, so if you wish to wear our shirts, feel free to email us.

2012 Christmas Gift Drive
In December of 2012, CFKC kicked off it’s charity work with a rapid but very rewarding event. The group decided to sell rubber bracelets at a price of only $2.00 to help raise money to buy gifts for the children at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. In little over two weeks, the group was able to make over $2000 to help purchase all sorts of games, puzzles, and toys for these children. On December 21, only four days before the big day, CFKC traveled to Pittsburgh with over 30 bags of toys for the kids. The feeling of giving so much to those who need it is indescribable, and it was awe inspiring moment for many of the members of CFKC. As a result of such a promising and successful event, CFKC plans to make the gift drive a yearly event, as to help make the holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most.
